This Privacy Policy explains how EasyBudget collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the EasyBudget Pro mobile application, its supporting services, and the website at https://easybudgetapp.net (together, the "Service").
EasyBudget is operated from the United Kingdom. By using the Service, you acknowledge the practices described below.
EasyBudget does not request access to your contacts, calendar, location, microphone, Bluetooth, Apple Music or Siri. We do not use advertising identifiers, sell personal information, serve targeted advertising or track you across other companies' apps and websites.
We use information to:
Where UK or European data-protection law applies, our main legal bases are performing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where the law requires it. You can withdraw consent for optional device permissions or notifications through your device settings.
Scanning is optional. When you choose it, the selected receipt or statement image, or an image-rendered page of a PDF, is sent securely to OCR.Space to extract text. The extracted text is then processed to suggest transaction information. OCR.Space states that uploaded documents are deleted after processing and that API access IP addresses are retained for one month. EasyBudget does not intentionally retain the original scan after the processing request unless you separately save or import information derived from it.
PDFs that already contain readable text may be processed on your device without sending their pages for OCR. Review every suggested transaction before saving or importing it, because automated extraction can be inaccurate.
Account and budget information is transmitted to EasyBudget's servers over encrypted connections and is stored in the Service database so that it is available after sign-in and across supported devices. Some data is also cached locally or held in secure device storage to support sign-in, preferences, PIN or biometric-gated access and app functionality.
Manual budget snapshots are encrypted before being stored. EasyBudget keeps the latest seven manual snapshots for each source budget; creating another removes the oldest. You can delete individual snapshots in the app. Deleting a live budget does not automatically delete its saved snapshots, but deleting your EasyBudget account deletes its snapshots and restore records.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but cannot guarantee absolute security.
We share information only as needed to provide or protect the Service:
We retain account and budget information while your account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, secure the Service or meet legal obligations. User-controlled backups follow the seven-snapshot limit described above. Operational and security logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes.
Deleted information may remain temporarily in routinely rotated disaster-recovery backups until those backups expire. Such copies are isolated from normal use and would only be used for recovery or where legally required.
You can update your name and email in Menu > Profile, control security and biometric use in Menu > Security, manage notifications through the app and device settings, delete individual budgets and backups, and request a CSV export from Budgets > Backups & export.
You can permanently delete your account inside the app:
Account deletion removes the live EasyBudget account data, budgets, transactions, categorisation rules, net-worth and debt-planning records, saved snapshots and restore records associated with that account. It does not remove information another user independently controls, such as an email they received, and temporary disaster-recovery copies may remain until normal rotation completes.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal information, receive a portable copy, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. Contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and require providers to protect information consistently with applicable law.
EasyBudget is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so that we can investigate and delete it where appropriate. A higher minimum age may apply in your country.
The public EasyBudget website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking. Its hosting provider may process ordinary server logs, such as IP address, requested page, browser information and request time, to deliver and secure the website.
We may update this policy when the Service or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date above. Where a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate.
